The Challenge
A large state government department recognised the potential of AI but lacked a cohesive strategy, governance framework, or internal capability. Pockets of experimentation existed but without oversight, leading to risk exposure and duplicated effort across 14 divisions.
Our Approach
We delivered a comprehensive AI enablement program including an enterprise AI strategy aligned to the Victorian Government AI Framework, a governance and risk assessment model, a curated catalogue of approved AI tools, and a tiered training program from executive awareness through to hands-on prompt engineering and responsible AI practices.
The Outcome
Over 3,000 staff completed foundational AI training within 6 months. The department launched 8 approved AI use cases in the first quarter, reducing manual effort by an estimated 12,000 hours annually. The governance framework became a reference model adopted by two other departments.
